Manny Pacquiao still hopeful of Mayweather fight

Welterweight world champion Manny Pacquiao is busy preparing for his first defence of the title since regaining it against Junior Welterweight champion Chris Algieri, but he has made it clear who he wants for his next fight should he win the fight and retain the title.

The Filipino Bomber said that he has a very specific goal in his career, he wants to give the boxing fans the fight they have been craving for adding that he really wants that fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao, who regained the title after a unanimous decision victory over Timothy Bradley earlier in the year, nearly two years after losing the belt under controversial circumstances, will take on Algieri in Macau, China this month.

But as he comes towards the end of his career, the Filipino fighter is eager to have the fight the world and he himself has wanted for several years - the fight that will define his legacy. Multiple attempts have been made to make the fight happen over the years, but somehow or the other, it hasn't transpired. This time, it's Mayweather Jr. who seems to be stalling.

Mayweather Jr. defeated Marcos Maidana recently on points to retain his World Boxing Organisation or WBO Welterweight Championship and speaking in a recent media event, the undefeated American said that he doesn't think about Manny Pacquiao, adding that he doesn't know who Pacquiao is for that matter.

But the American also added that he wishes him nothing but the best, he doesn't wish anything bad for him but he tries not to focus on what someone else is doing.

But according to Manny Pacquiao, if the negotiations are good, then the fight will happen but it all depends on what both parties bring to the table during the process of negotiations.
